Discounting rather then price reduction

Marketing your business by providing good prices for a sale is commonly done although I will note that often there are other options you can offer your clients. Also, it is a danger as the people you worked so hard to attract are the type that only buys discounted goods.

From a reporting view, it is better if you are going to reduce prices that you use the discounting functions in your POS software. This will gives you more flexibility as well as giving you a better record of what it is costing you. It can also be turned off easier at the point of sale by the operator it something goes wrong.
